Pricing and financing and budget, oh my! Sorry, thought I’d repeat it for dramatic effect. I know what you’re thinking. And yes. I do whistle while I work. My coworkers love it.
I’m told by our accountants, you know, the ones with the thick glasses, that financing is arguably one of the most important things to consider when building a new home. Opinions vary but for the sake of this article, I am willing to concede. Here are a few tips that you may find helpful when planning your path to owning a custom modular home.
Budget and Pricing Have you settled on a budget? All of our homes are custom designed, engineered for your specific property, and built with the materials that you pick out (that’s the really fun part). If we know what your budget is we can help you prioritize the build based on your must-haves, it would be awesome to have, and wouldn’t it be nice to have. For example, I must have 3 bedrooms and two baths, It would be awesome to have hardwood floors and granite countertops, and it would be nice to have a wrap-around porch and garage. Make sense? If you don’t have a budget, we prefer that you talk to a lender first, but we can price a home using standard specifications provided by our manufacturer.
Financing Are you looking for local banks that are familiar with our way of building? (Hint: I’m not saying that our lenders love modular, but they do send us Valentine’s Day cards.) We have worked with most of the local banks and credit unions on one or more projects over the years, and we can point you in the direction of the right people to talk to at these places. Financing on most of our projects is accomplished with a construction loan.
